Shepherd of the Valley!
Shepherd of the Valley is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), founded in 1973 and located in Beaverton, Oregon.
Our mission is to provide a safe and accepting place to celebrate God’s grace, invite and engage the curious, reach out to the world in love and service, and strive to be an example of how the Lord would live in today’s world.

How to Get Here
We are located on the North side of Cornell Road near the intersection of Cornell Road and 173rd, adjacent to the Bronson Creek Park.
What to Expect
on Your First Visit
Our services are not formal, some people wear jeans, some dress up a bit. As you walk into the church, head to the right where you will find the usher station just inside the the sanctuary. Our current Covid protocol is to ask those attending in person to be vaccinated. The ushers can answer any questions you may have. Family groups can find seats together and add chairs to fit their group size. The screens at the front of the sanctuary will display the order of service, visuals, and song lyrics for those attending and those worshiping online.
Families and Children Welcome
Children of any age are invited to the front of the church for the Children’s Message. You’ll see our Pastor sit with the children and thoroughly enjoy talking directly to them — helping to bring the good news of Jesus Christ into their world in a way they can understand. We welcome children in our worship and in our church community. There is a small prayground toward the back of the worship space with books, children’s coloring pages, and few items to keep kids occupied and engaged during the worship service.
Services and Communion
Sunday services are typically one hour long, and we celebrate communion each Sunday. All who wish to participate are welcome to come forward and receive God’s gift of gracious love. Coffee and refreshments may be offered afterwards for people who want to stay awhile and chat. We also offer Wednesday midweek services during the seasons of Lent and Advent. The services are about one half hour.
Accessibility Features
Our church is accessible to people with disabilities. There are no steps between the parking lot and the sanctuary, our powered entry doors are ADA compliant, and we have a hearing assistance system. We also have a wheelchair accessible restroom that has an infant changing station.
